About
Throughout my life, I've nurtured a profound love for art and creativity. Even as a young child, at the age of 4, I found joy in drawing distinct shapes, and this passion only grew as I got older.
Around the age of 5 or 6, I began experimenting with different materials like paper and cardboard, constructing elaborate houses for my action figures. This early exploration ignited my curiosity, and I delved into more complex projects using materials like MDF, chipboard, and wood, creating structures that demanded intricate screws and nails. Additionally, I discovered a hidden talent for working with clay, adding yet another dimension to my artistic endeavours.
Despite my artistic inclination, when the time came to make career choices at the end of secondary school, I felt societal pressures nudging me towards a different path. In the end, I decided to study to become a surveyor, but I struggled and found little joy in the field.
After completing my surveyor studies, I embarked on various ventures for a few years, exploring different paths and trying to find my true calling. It was during this time that I stumbled upon Restoration and Conservation, and a newfound passion was kindled within me.
The world of Restoration and Conservation of Listed Buildings fascinated me, and I quickly realized that everything I had learned and developed since childhood had a purpose here. It was as if all my skills, craftsmanship, perspective studies, and attention to detail finally found their rightful place.
As I immersed myself in the world of restoration, my passion for art was reignited. I quickly mastered the craft, but I knew deep down that this was not just a profession; it was an integral part of who I was.
Then in 2011, an unexpected twist came when a thoughtful gift from my best friend entered the picture—a Barbie doll. I named her Kiaretta, a name that held a separate tale itself.
Unintentionally, Kiaretta became the catalyst that transformed my artistic journey. Capturing her whimsical adventures with my first iPhone 4s unlocked a captivating fusion of creativity and storytelling. Through Kiaretta's lens, my personality and skills came together in a seamless and natural way.
Today, Kiaretta embodies my artistic spirit, representing a culmination of a lifetime of passion and talent. Through her adventures, I've discovered a profound sense of fulfilment, one of many callings I express myself through.
